The 2025 application window is now closed.

Norfolk Rivers Trust, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and Aviva have come together to support groups in accessing Norfolk’s rivers and countryside.

Nature gives us so much; from the food we eat, to the air we breathe, and just 20 minutes in nature can boost our mental wellbeing [1, 2]. However, many local people face barriers to accessing Norfolk’s natural spaces, such as transportation issues, costs, isolation, or simply not knowing where to go.

That’s why we’ve created a fund ranging from £150 to £1500, to provide opportunities for more community groups and schools to connect with nature between March and November 2025.

More detailed information on eligibility and timelines can be found by visiting our FAQs section.

Together, we aim to help people across Norfolk experience nature’s incredible benefits.

About The Aviva access to nature Fund

In 2021, WWF and Aviva joined forces to call for a transformational shift in the UK financial sector to help slow climate change – a shift without which the UK will not be able to meet its net zero target. Together, WWF and Aviva are also developing projects that work with nature to help reduce the effects of extreme weather, particularly flooding, on communities in the UK and Canada.

One such project is the Riverscape East Anglia project. Working with local delivery partner Norfolk Rivers Trust, this project focuses on the role of Natural Flood Management to create multiple benefits for nature, while building greater awareness and flood resilience within the wider community.
